Meals / Weaning / Special DietsYoung children need a varied diet in order to grow and learn. We provide breakfast, dinner and tea. Children enjoy snacks of fresh fruit and vegetables during the day and have access to drinking water at all times.
Mealtimes are a pleasant social occasion and our staff sit with the children while they eat - feeding babies and assisting younger children when they need help.
Staff encourage older children to be independent, serving their own food and using their cutlery to feed themselves.
We work in close collaboration with you to ensure that we know what foods your child likes or dislikes and take account of their preferences whilst still encouraging them to try new foods. For babies who are being weaned we work with you as they move from pureed to lumpy food and then to a normal diet.
We are able to provide for children who need special diets for religious or medical reasons. Where children have food allergies or intolerances we have procedures to ensure that children are kept safe.
