My name is Amie Corbett and I am the manager here at Lavender Hill.
I hold a NVQ level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development and I also obtained a degree in Early Years Education in 2016.
I have been working in day nurseries since 2007 and I enjoy every aspect of working with children and supporting their development. I also enjoy supporting the team to give the children the skills they need for going to school.
Working with children is a great passion of mine and I believe children will reach their full potential when they are in a warm, safe and nurturing environment that challenges the children’s learning and stimulates their interests.
We occupy a large, recently refurbished and re-equipped nursery in Clapham Junction, with our own garden and outdoor play space
It’s hard to find a day nursery in Clapham Junction – or anywhere in the local area - with extensive and well equipped facilities for both indoor and outdoor play. Situated in our own grounds, our Clapham Junction nursery has both, and we’ve included lots of information about our facilities on our Our Nursery page, and lots of photos of our children at play throughout our website. A big ‘thank you’ to our parents for granting their permission for us to share these photos.
We explain our philosophy and approach to childcare in detail on our Caring For Your Child page. I think that this is particularly important, as not every Clapham Junction nursery operates in the same way. We explain our ‘Key Person Approach’ and how this enables us to know both you and your child really well – and better meet your child’s needs. We also explain how our nursery and outdoor environments contribute to your child’s development with us.
Here at Lavender Hill we have a great partnership with parents – working closely to ensure that we are meeting their individual needs. I strongly believe in creating warm, caring and friendly environments, where children and their families feel cared for, valued and loved - and where they can genuinely feel at home. As children’s primary educators, the relationships we build with parents are as important as the relationships we build with our children. These relationships create a ‘home from home’ atmosphere and help children to feel safe and secure, leaving them free to immerse themselves in play.
We’ve included as much useful information as possible here on our website. You’ll find much of it on our Parent Information page. We’re the only Clapham Junction nursery to open from 7.30am – 6.30pm, Monday – Friday for 51 weeks of the year (we close during Christmas week). We offer a variety of sessions to meet most family’s individual needs - at competitive and inclusive prices. We also offer FREE childcare places for 2, 3 and 4 year old children, and include free nappies and wipes and nutritious ‘home cooked’ lunches and teas – the details of which are all explained on our Parent Information page.
The best day nursery in Clapham Junction
Of course it’s natural to be proud of your nursery when you work with a team who strive to provide wonderful care to children every day - and I’m no exception. I truly believe that Lavender Hill is the best nursery in Clapham Junction. I hope that you feel that our parent testimonials bear this out - and you may also enjoy reading our latest OFSTED Report.
Finally, while we regard Lavender Hill as a Clapham Junction nursery, we have many parents who use us from across ‘nappy valley’ and beyond - as far afield as Putney, Roehampton, Wimbledon, Fulham, Balham and Tooting, as well as from local areas such as Clapham, Battersea and Wansdworth. You’ll find a map showing our location on our Contact Us page - as well as our contact details. If we look as though we could provide a childcare solution for you, then we’d love to see you at the nursery and show you around - so please give us a call on 0207 924 1267 or pop in to see us, and meet our team.
